SWAT Team Gets Punchy?

For July, the SWAT Team (Stampers With ATtitude) challenge revolved around all of us using the same punch – Stampin’ Up!’s retired Blossom Builder Punch.  And, as always the team put on their creativity caps and rose to the occasion.

Tena and Jean made flowers, but used embossing folders on the petals.  Very elegant!  Jodie used hers to do more of a sunflower on the side of the card.  Angie did a flower also, but took a chance and made hers patchwork!  All very cute!

Paula and myself saw the punched parts differently.  Paula used part of the largest petal to make chocolate kisses, and then used Crystal Effects to add some “saliva” to the partly eaten one.  I used a couple of the smaller petals and turned them into goldfish.

The cards all turned out amazing!  For August, our challenge is to do “wonky-shaped” cards for any occasion.  I can’t wait to see what these clever women come up with!

Fun Birthday Card Idea

From Shelli Gardner – Stampin’ Up! Co-Founder

Another Batch of Birthday Cards

Time for another round of employee birthday cards! Shelli sends out birthday cards to the Stampin’ Up! employees.  Here’s the latest version using the “Work of Art” stamp set.

A couple different versions of the same basic card.  They’re quick and easy to make, yet still colorful and fun.

A Life of Intention

New LifeThis was a line in a movie I watched recently….

“If you don’t make time to work on creating the life you want, you’re eventually going to be spending a lot of time dealing with a life you don’t want.”

What’s your heart’s answer to these questions:

Who or what’s most important to you?

Who do you want to spend the rest of your life with?

What do you want to spend the rest of your life doing?

Are you crossing things off your “bucket list?”

I wish you the courage to make the decisions and changes you may need to, and the determination to make the rest of your life what you intend it to be.

Oh, Heck!

I just wanted to share a cute birthday card I made today.  Click on the picture for a larger view.

I just love the colors and the glitzy paper.  The stamp is a clear one from the $1 bin at JoAnn’s.  And, of course, I had to add the stitching border that I’m obsessed with lately!

What do you think?  And what does it inspire you to create?

“Good morning, God. What have you got planned for me today?”

I don’t recall what radio station I was listening to today when I heard a young woman saying that this was her prayer every morning as she started her day.

In fact, I had forgotten I’d heard it at all until it came back to me as I was praying tonight.

But… what a great way to begin every morning!  With the anticipation and belief that sometime during each day you will be placed in situations that are clear opportunities to help someone, serve someone, witness to someone, or just show the love of Jesus Christ to someone.

As Christians, these oportunities come to us every day; but if we start our day off believing that these opportunities will happen, we’ll look for them all day, no matter what we’re doing — at our workplace, the gas station, the grocery store, the library, the recycling center, walking down the street, our kid’s after school activity, or wherever you find yourself during the day.  There’s opportunities to partner with God to do something great and truly meaningful.

So, maybe tomorrow start your day by asking, “What have you got planned for me today, God?” and let him take your day where He wants it to go.
